The bacon has to be paid for somehow. Sure it is a see-through and obvious marketing scheme, if you didn't notice, there were no games in 5308 Business ed. either so anyone who wants to play a little Solitaire as stress relief at work will probably have to shell out too.
THE poor hapless will buy Basic (it's what they "need" they tell themselves ... and one wouldn't want to spend more than that now would one?) .. But once they get home and find the glass isn't there and they hear of its wonders well .. what to do .. it's only a hundred bucks .. um .. hmmm ..hm uh .. let's look at that Windows Anytime Upgrade wizard just to see what it says - but I will not buy .. hmm .. well .. it is only one hundred dollars and I will be getting that extra check next month .. yeah sure why not .. go for it .. la ti da .hm hmhmhm yup .. credit card number yup ...
High five the MS marketing department for bringing in an extra three or ten billion or so with their "no glass home basic" and "no games business" scheme! Some one got a fat bonus for that one! Computers have gotten too cheap anyway and the industry needs a little shot in the arm.

OK Business will probably have games.

It's either Enterprise or Business which doesn't have games... .... or it could be "Longhorn" Server...
Hmm....

I noticed you are not planning to include faxing in any home version of Vista. Many, many home users are now using fac capability and need to utility.
I strongly urge you include faxing in the high end home version of Vista Home
